Lafayette, LA (virtual interview): The interviewer didn't seem very interested in doing the interview, didn't look at the camera for quite some time in the beginning, just asked a few light questions as he clicked away and looked at another computer. He eventually became more interested in the interview and it improved. The L3H recruiter scheduled the interview (personal call to schedule the interview but no phone screen), and added in the confirmation email that there would be a code challenge portion but composing code in a text editor would be sufficient. I took that to mean, some flexibility around pseudocode would be acceptable. Now back to the interview... the code challenge was disasterous. The interviewer guided me through the brute-force method and eliminated that and maybe one other, then as I tried to code a solution, he asked me to link to a development environment and code a real true-syntax solution. I failed miserably. Anyway, if you interview with them at this location, prepare as if it is a technical interview for Amazon, Facebook, or Microsoft. And if you go that far, then jeez... you might as well just apply to them too.
