I actually interviewed for two separate positions.
The first interview went really well--the two gentlemen interviewing me were very nice and made me feel comfortable. They asked me a series of questions prepared by HR and wrote down my answers. I was then given an opportunity to ask mine/discuss the position. I was given a time-frame of two weeks, after which I sent a follow-up email to inquire about the position. This email went ignored, which I find unbelievably unprofessional and lacking in common courtesy. I did not hear anything back for another two weeks after my follow-up email, when I received a generic system-generated rejection email.
For the second interview, I was contacted by HR and given a date and time to show up for an interview. This happened somewhat concurrently with the process for the first interview. I showed up at the given time, and it turns out my interview was never booked into the system, so the interviewers had no idea I was there. I wound up sitting in a hallway for nearly an hour, waiting for the interviewers to get prepared. I had assumed going in that this interview was a followup to the above one, but the interviewers had no idea that I had interviewed for another position within the company, and informed me that this was an entirely different position.
The interview itself was almost identical the interview for the first position. In both cases, the interviewers were nice and courteous, and made me feel comfortable. But in both cases, the interviewers seemed to care more about ensuring their process was followed (Asking questions prepared by HR, and writing down my answers), than actually getting to know me. I was also not impressed with the overall competency of the HR department. Looking back, it is extremely bizarre, and I must say that the experiences left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth in terms of the lack of professionalism and basic courtesy shown through process.
