After submitting my resume and cover letter, I was contacted promptly to schedule an interview. The interview process involved meeting with my manager AND fellow bioengineering research techs. It was a very standard interview. I was sent an email the next week asking that I submit references through their electronic system. The reference checking was convenient for my references, consisting of a 30 question survey for them to fill out (mostly ranking how I perform compared to other employees on a number of scales). I was offered the job within a couple of days of my last reference replying. Negotiations for wage were reasonable, though they were done through a hiring department, which meant that they had to play middle man between me and my manager. Overall, it was a very smooth hiring process.
