I've had the pleasure to send my resume to Interaction Design Foundation after I saw their ad at Larajobs for a remote full stack developer. After I saw the full job description and also their job page, where they describe their philosophy, I was convinced they completely suit my way of thinking and decided to give it a try. The interview is long but not in the bad sense. They just want to select the best people and by that, they also show they are very serious about the people they choose. The interview process also builds the picture of a serious organization, who knows what it's doing. It also shows the quality they've achieved and they want to continue improving and for a person that wants the same, it is a pleasure to give that time for an interview. The interview was completely different than what I've been to, in the sense they ask you only meaningful, respectful questions, in order to understand more about you, your expected level and also very important whether you are ready for this type of work. I'm not surprised because they are Danish people and Danish people are raised to treat other people equally. This is one reason which made me want to try because I know pretty much about Denmark and I have a good impression of Danish people. I can't say the interview was difficult. The code challenge was also not so difficult, but tricky - it is not big but is enough for you to shine with your coding and code-design skills not only in PHP/Laravel but in the frontend part. The reason I haven't started there is that I've just seen I'm not ready enough to join an organization with such high level. At the end of my code challenge, I've decided to withdraw my candidature, since I saw I've had difficulties solving this task in an elegant way. I respect their time as much as my time... I want to thank these people for preparing such a nice interview and have shown me respect. They've told they'll review my candidature in a week, but responded on the same day, which I appreciate very much! I also want to thank Rikke, who was very responsive, as well as to the dev team, for answering my questions. I'll definitely try again when I feel ready! Good luck! I'll be back! :D
