Was told by the recruiter to expect a 30min call with the hiring manager to discuss the role and if I’d be a good fit. When I joined the call, it was a contract engineer that didn’t turn his camera on that immediately started drilling me with technical questions. He was quite rude in his questions, for example “What version of .Net do you use?” “We currently use version 6 but are beginning to plan the upgrade to 8.” “Why would you do that?” Or “I see on your resume you know WPF. What project was that for? That’s a really old way of doing things, that isn’t used in real companies.” He didn’t provide any information about the role other than their tech stack and asked me to start a screen share coding interview. When I asked to discuss the company more first he told me that he isn’t aware of the salary for the role or what benefits are offered. He let me know that while on paper I would be expected to be on call every third week, in reality I’d be expected to be on call 24/7. When I asked whether the company has experienced recent layoffs he told me that reorganizations and layoffs are constant. I ended the interview there and didn’t proceed with answering his technical questions.

Simple and easy. The interviewer was very understanding and helpful. He was giving me little time to answer understanding my disability. Thanks to him. Most liked process was the hiring process because recruiter was super helpful and responsive.
