I applied for the UES sceme of the Indian Navy. The navy officers came to the university. They gave their introduction(all of them were at a very high ranked officers in the navy).They gave us a ppt and showed us a couple of videos about Indian Navy and life at the Indian Navy Academy(everyone was motivated after watching those videos). We were shown a ppt after that which was mostly about the selection process and information about the package and other benefits of joining navy. We were divided into groups of 10 and were sent to a conference room in which one of the officer was sitting. First he asked us to tell us something about ourselves and also to tell our marks in 10th,12th and graduation(Mandatory question, do prepare a good introduction). Then he gave us a topic for GD which was "Terrorism in India". It is a very common topic for GD and i also had some good points on this topic but the problem was out of the 10 students in our group 5 of the students were my friends and i didn't knew the other 5 but those guys didn't even knew the basics of GD. They were not letting anyone else speak and were shouting at the top of their voices. The Navy officer stopped us a couple of times and told us that he is not able to get anything what we are saying as those guys were just speaking over one another shouting. He then gave us another topic but it was still the same. So he started to ask some questions after that. The questions that he asked us were mostly related to navy ports and missiles along with a couple of simple questions. I would definitely recommend you to make your group before hand as you might not get allocated to a good group and your preparation will be worth for nothing.
