Really off-putting interview process. To start off, I was told it would be a one-on-one with the hiring manager, but upon arrival at the interview, I learned it would actually be a 4-person panel interview (surprise!). So, no time to mentally prepare for that. The interview was only about 45 min. but it felt like an eternity because it was more of an intense interrogation rather than an interview. Some of the interviewers came off as rude, seeming displeased (to the point of cutting me off mid-sentence) with my replies to their questions, even though they were just in-depth explanations of what was on my resume. This gave me the feeling that they hadn't really looked at my resume prior to the interview. This was disappointing, because it felt like a waste of time for both parties. Obviously, it is completely valid and fair if a candidate's experience as expressed on their resume is not an ideal fit for the job position. I understand this. But, that should be identified prior to scheduling an interview with a candidate. It became apparent during the interview that they were seeking a candidate with very specific job experience, which I did not have. They seemed displeased by this, but that was baffling since my resume did not state I had that kind of experience. About half way through the interview, I had decided that I didn't want to work for this company, or with/for these people. The cherry on top was the surprise "technical exam" that they requested I complete at the conclusion of the interview (3 pages, front and back). I also found it strange that they focused completely on the job position, and never even mentioned the company or what it's like working for that company. That was just another red flag. To summarize, I've had 4-hour long interviews more pleasant than this one.
