Went through 5 phone call interviews with two of those being technical interviews were they have you SSH into a server and fix some python code. Everything seemed to be going well.
Then then flew me up to New York where I met everyone. Most seemed less than enthusiastic about their jobs and asked very vague questions without giving any insight into the actual architecture that I would be working with. They also considered EVERYTHING proprietary, even if they used Jenkins for CI or not. Seriously?? They also seemed very unprepared for the interview after I took the time to fly from Texas to New York. Some questions were not very well thought out.
Afterwords, I never heard from them again even after sending two emails saying thank you for flying me up, but I was not interested in the position after the last interview. It felt very unprofessional and not a place that "hrt's coders". Must be that New York attitude because most places have the curtsy to follow up, even if that is to say they don't want to move forward. Especially after talking with them for over 10 weeks!!
Even with their "casual" dress environment, did not seem like a very open place, and in some instances they were a little rude. For example: "Only use the restroom and don't go wonder anywhere else except for this room." Why would I wander around your office ? And shouldn't you show me the office after I just took the time to fly up here??? Not very friendly, so why would I want to work there again?
