Very unstructured. Telephone screening with a current employee first, with questions about background and visa situation. No follow up until 2 months later. The second interview was right after the first. The Chinese HR, a current assistant and a local HR present. Different people asking totally different questions and don't look coordinated at all. The first two interviews were in Chinese, and when local HR sat with the Chinese HR, they did not really communicate the same things. The position is actually a higher up position but they don't want to sponsor the work visa/permit. I actually have a very good profile among the Chinese, but from the interview process they try to make you feel that you are nothing and refuse to answer any questions, e.g., about corporate culture, team structure. They got stuck at the work permit part and never got back. I did not bother to really check with them as I did not get enough respect from the recruiters, especially the Chinese HR. They look like they are a big company, but I would not go to a company that does not respect my skills and do not want to adapt to talents with a restricted work permit.
