Was messaged on LinkedIn for a quick call. Call seemed very promising and was offered to move on to a case study. I sunk an entire day into this case study.. sent it and was ghosted by the HM. A few weeks later, recruiting emailed me (for the first time) and said another HM was interested. This HM didn't even provide the case study, so they didn't know enough about it. It had been a month since I wrote it up, so I didn't remember every detail of the case study and was asked very detailed questions about assumptions I didn't even create. Then a couple days later I get a rejection email. What a crock. Don't waste your time.. can't believe I sunk this much time into free work. I will never do an offline case study again for an interview.

How would you measure success for this product, and how is X doing so far? Please describe and calculate your 2-3 main KPIs. Come up with 1-2 hypotheses/ideas that could materially increase X's performance. Design a flow of diagrams, and/or screen wireframes, that support your hypotheses/ideas. Quantify the potential revenue impact of each of the changes Build a business case for why X should use Cancel For Any Reason How would you recommend merchandising the product, and where within the user experience? If helpful, can include a simple wireframe/mockup How would you recommend pricing it based on a % of the hotel stay amount? Explain what impacts you think pricing would have on the rest of the funnel How would you pitch the customer value to X to grab their interest? Include a simple business model/overview of the enterprise value it adds monetarily Feel free to make assumptions against the data below and create alternate business cases for growth scenarios
Be careful about applying to Hopper. They will take you through many rounds of ambiguous, average difficulty, and uncoordinated interviews - only to drop you along the way for candidates further along the process. (Yes, the multiple rounds and 'loop' is designed to put multiple candidates through the process, you won't know how many, and they will drop you as soon as somebody reaches first).
100% remote company - therefore low accountability. Be warned.

The interviewer had no experience interviewing candidates. They were disorganized, but worse, once over there was zero communication. I reached out a few times afterward and congratulated myself on dodging a bullet.
