Rather cumbersome application on line including statement of suitability. I was called for a full day of assessments which I passed and told I would receive a written report in the next few days but got nothing in spite of chasing with calls and email. Two months later I received the assessment feedback and was called in for a final interview with a panel of three staff. The interview was based on key criteria for the role as commercial manager at the commercial function. It was a 30mns technical questions and 30mns informal allowing me to ask questions. HR was very helpful and called me beforehand to help me prepare. During the technical part one of the interviewers kept sighing very loudly and seemed bored and fed up. Not so surprisingly the following day I received a friendly call from HR and was told the panel found me too technical during the technical part and overall too commercial and analytical for this role. It was an interesting but rather strange experience which made me realise a career as a civil servant is probably not for me.
