      Applied on website. 2-3 weeks later, received a request to phone screen with the recruiter. Phone screen went well, and within 24 hours had a 1st round interview scheduled for the following week. 48 hours before, I was alerted that the HM would be OOO and our interview would be pushed back a week. Finally, nearly a month after applying, I had my interview with the HM, and we discussed next steps. Afterwards, I sent thank you emails to both the HM & Recruiter. A week later, I sent a follow up email to the recruiter, and received an ambiguous OOO email that stated they were on PTO today (the date in question not actually specified) through 12/2 and to email their dept thread for questions regarding interviews in process. I did as instructed and provided my availability for a 2nd round. I received no communication from the department. It being Thanksgiving time, I waited until 12/2 and reached out to the recruiter I had worked with one last time to express my continued interest. All emails went unanswered. 3 days later (now nearly 2 months since applying and 3 weeks since my 1st interview), I received a generic rejection email from their recruiting software. I’m honestly super disappointed in the lack of communication from both the HM & the recruiter. It’s the holidays and everyone is busy, but have some respect for a candidate’s time. Don’t let emails go unanswered, even if your response is that there is no update at the time. Or, be quicker in your decisions and let candidates know sooner that they’re no longer in the running.
