I found the position on the company website and applied online. I was screened first by HR and then the hiring manager. I came in for a face-to-face interview which started with a written evaluation that included PMI oriented project management questions. I then had a panel interview with the hiring manager, a technical manager, and a business analyst. Most of the panel part focused on knowledge of data management projects and the issues particular to that setting. There were a lot of questions on how I would handle client situations like " how would you handle a project where you estimated a 3-week timeline and management only gave you 2 weeks to get it done? What steps would you take to meet the 2 week expectation?"
Then they gave me a practical test where I was supposed to identify requirements for a payroll system and analyze some of the data flows associated with it to see if I could find gaps in the process. They wanted me to present the results back to the panel. I was allowed to use pen and paper, a whiteboard, and my computer.
