The hiring process is absurd. I just retired from the military and saw an job opening for a area manager. I was emailed the day I sent my application in and drove to the interview about a week later. Everything seemed to go well, but I noticed the 2 managers interviewing started using my military service against me in the form of questions. Walking away from the interview, I felt they were never serious in the hiring process. I was told that I would be contacting the following Wednesday… Wednesday comes by.. nothing.. Thursday… nothing.. So finally on Friday I called up the hiring manager and asked if my application was reviewed or not. Then she told me that even though my application was on the top of all applicants, they hired from inside the company. And she thanked me for applying. And said she would hold onto my application. They made me drive 100 miles to “interview” for this job, just so they could meet their quota? I drove 100 miles and they couldn’t even afford to call!! veteran’s preference award🤣😂👍
