HR called to ask why interest in HSBC and how my skill sets match with the job requirements. Then HR asked about the current and expected salaries, and also the notice period.

Doesn't explain why they rejected, interviewer sounds dismissive. When asked for reason, they did not get back nor explain the reason for rejection. I think it is important to have common courtesy
