The hiring process is pretty much referral based. " if you know a person in the company, he/she can get you in" after you submitted the online application and finished+did not fail the SNL tests.
The people in my department are crazy workaholics, like 8am-9pm, even if it's not I-banking related. The environment is very suffocating, and not very friendly.

It's a very systematic interview testing your verbal ability, writing ability and some easy maths.
It doesn't require any special knowledge about the industry and current economics issue. It only asks some questions similar to SJT.

I applied through an e-mail along with a cover letter which was not mandatory/required.
We settled a meeting a week after, at their headquarters.
The interview was with the HR manager, and it was behavioral and not knowledge.

This was my first telephone interview with HSBC, it materialized after having passed the numerical reasoning and the logic test. They came back to me rather quickly after having done the online tests which is a massive bonus, some companies don't get back to you for a good 2 months.
