      Entrevista

A few days after applying for the role, I was sent an email asking to complete a 12-question test correcting grammar in sentences. The woman with whom I was communicating sent me an email setting up an in-person interview after I passed the grammar test. She noted that I would have to write a mock letter of recommendation that would take 2-3 hours and I needed to bring my own laptop. For me, the in-person interview lasted about 10-15 minutes, because I told her I did not want to continue with the hiring process. In the job posting, a salary range of $32,000 -$38,000 was provided. It noted that overtime pay and bonuses were also available. When I interviewed, I was told $35,000 was the rate they offered all people in that position. There was no range. Also, she showed me a list of compensation and benefits, which did not have bonuses listed. She informed me that if a supervisor asks an employee to complete a certain number of "special projects," then they could get a $100 bonus, but it solely depended on being asked to work on the projects. I was asked if $35,000 was something I'd consider, to which I said no. We ended the interview there. Before I was asked about my salary expectations, the interview questions were pretty standard, such as why I wanted to work there, describe my background, and describe my technical writing experience.
