I certainly apologize on behalf of our company for what sounds like a confusing and rushed interview process. I have addressed this practice with our team so we can work to create a more positive experience for future candidates.
In requesting your information, our manager was trying to streamline the process for our HR team. There was no intention of "foul play." He thought he was expediting someone's hiring process.
