I had worked with Github in my previous role and was really excited to be interviewing with them. I thought they had a great company and culture!
I already previously interviewed to Github a few months prior to this role and was devastated when I didn’t get the job initially. I was told it was because I was too late and they had someone further along in the process but to absolutely apply again.
So I did in the new year. I got another interview. I thought it went extremely well, could have kept talking with the interviewer who I really liked, Kari Cunard.
I was told I didn’t get the job, I asked for feedback and was told they had a policy against giving feedback but I was allowed to apply again.
How can I become a better candidate if you aren’t willing to let me know how I could improve? Then I see both the manager and recruiter posting on LinkedIn that they’re still hiring for this role...days after they turned me down.
Unfortunately I am no longer interested in Github as a company. They lost a potential candidate who was passionate about their company and their product...and to me, that’s more important than experience. A Sales person can sell anything if they’re excited about it.

Spoke with a recruiter and went on to speak with the directer of sales. From here had 5 x half hour interviews with various members of the sales department. Every person I spoke with kind and made the conversation fairly relaxed. The recruiter left me a voicemail to explain I didn't the position which I respected, however, there was no feedback given except for it is a competitive position.
