I applied online and in the next day, I got an email asking for scheduling the first interview. First Interview(Skype) 50 min.: The first one was with the DevOps team lead and he seemed to be a very nice guy. I talked about the projects I am currently working on and my interests in technology and some points on my resume. He also asked me questions about personal interests and why Switzerland once I was applying from overseas. Tech Interview(Skype) 90min.: The second was the tech interview, was with the team lead plus a senior team member. They asked me questions about Linux, networking, troubleshooting scenarios, programming, Big O, aws, etc. Both demonstrated low-level knowledge about the questions made. Cultural Fit Interview(Skype)45min.: The cultural fit interview(Skype) was with the co-founder and CTO. He asked me about motivation, previous experience, some tech questions and I got the chance to know the company better. It was very nice. Feedback(Skype) 10min.: I got a call from the recruiter who gave me the feedbacks so far.(That's was really cool!). Take home test(4 hours): I got a call from the team lead where he explained me the problem and how I supposed to solve it, he suggested some tools but I was free to choose whatever tool I wanted to solve the problem. The test was very DevOps oriented where I needed to automate a task and post the solution on GitHub. They gave me a Slack user to chat during the process to understand the problem and premises. I had a week to find some time to work on it and I spent about 9 hours of actual work.(The orientation was 4 hours but I wanted to deliver a robust solution). The presentation day(Skype) 30 min.: The interviewers were the same from the tech interview. I explained the approach, why, the tools used, the issues I had and the future improvements. They've made me some questions about the implementation and if I would change something. The CEO talk(Phone)60 min.: I had the chance to ask lots of questions about the company, vision, health, mile stones, etc. and there was no question without an answer, it was really nice of him. He asked me about motivation, previous experiences and what my former managers would say about me. Feedback and Pre-offer(Skype) 15min.: I got a call from the recruiter who gave me the feedbacks of the previous interviews and take home test.(again, really cool!). He also said he would be working on an offer and what would be important to me. He was very nice letting me know that my initial expectation was below the Switzerland market. The offer: I got an offer 20% higher than I initially expected. They also provided a relocation guide with all the information that may concerns when you're moving overseas.(It helped a lot). Conclusion: This is by far the best hiring experience I had. The whole process took a month, every single person I talked was very nice and passionate about the company. I can't wait to work with them.
