First, the lady changed the times of the interview we had scheduled, so that was unusual. The office has two cats that are always there so if you're an allergy sufferer, not the place for you. The woman who was hiring and needed the "assistant bookkeeper" was a co-owner of the business. From what I understood, the position was helping her with all of her backlog and general work. She said the "office manager" was a niece of she and her brother, the other owner and then made some comment about the girl being unintelligent (!?) Interviewer made it seem as if it was a casual conversation, not an interview and therefore presented herself as somewhat inept at interviewing skills saying, "I never do this," "I don't know what I am doing, I never do interviews, etc." She stated that she had done a lot of research and had been advised that she was well within her rights to state that she cannot work with someone in her office who does not have a similar political affiliation that she does, and went on to insinuate that she was not a fan of Donald Trump at all. Additionally, she said they do no drug testing because she is a pot smoker. I thought my interview went very well and really thought she was hiring me but no response to my thank you for the interview correspondence, nor a word about the position. In hindsight, I feel she knew completely what she was doing in phrasing questions the way she did to reveal candidates' politics and use of drugs. Sneaky.
