I was called in for an interview. I met with three separate people from the team. Had a 2 hour interview first hour with the head of the team and the second with the team coordinator. First two went well and were fairly straightforward, I left feeling very very positive. Then I had an hour and a half interview with a senior member of the team who began asking me to regurgitate specific code onto a white board. He was not very pleasant and really put me on the spot, I was not aware I would be taking a written on the spot exam. I tried to explain that my body of work which he has access to would show I know my stuff but he insisted that I be able to throw code on a white board at his whim. That last part really threw it off for me and I left embarrassed and rather angry. In this day and age I've never been asked to write code out on a white board and as a person who has interviewed developers I would never expect that of someone.
