Entrevista
I had two interviews with the District Sales Manager. The first interview was a group interview. This was the easier interview. The second interview was a face to face interview that was more arduous. He gave every indication that he would offer the entry level Game Advisor position to me after the second interview, but he never made any offer. He gave the usual "we want to go in a different direction" email. My gripe is that why he scheduled the second interview if he had no intention of hiring me in the first place. He also went on vacation after the second interview. That was unprofessional because he could have at least given a response prior to going on vacation instead of making me wait like a child for a prolonged period of time. He misled me into thinking I had the job, but I had my hopes up for nothing. Regardless of how passionate I was about games and sales, it was unlikely he would have hired me. I asked him why he refused to hire me, but I received no response. I was also told to reapply in 90 days. Even if I reapplied in 90 days, I doubt he would have offered me the job. But I probably won't reapply in 90 days. How would waiting 90 days improve my chances of securing the job? Am I magically more qualified for the job by waiting 90 days? If anyone is interviewing at GameStop, then you have to hope you have a helpful district manager who is willing to give you the job. I read anecdotes about how easy it is to get a job at GameStop (you only need a pulse), but that is only true if you are interviewed by someone who wants to hire you. Education won't help you. I had two BA degrees, but the district manager was not interested in hiring me. Furthermore, good luck to anyone who interviews.

What do you know about GameStop? Can you tell me about a time when you worked in a stressful environment? What kind of experience do you have? Can you give me your best sales pitch for the GameStop card?

Met with the manager and interviewed. Good interview, professional, the questions were good and not invasive. The job seemed like a good fit but there were only a few positions open.

Standard questions given by the managers and assistant manager. Questions involving teamwork, managing time, and organization. Also, work history and education. Experience with last and current game consoles is a must. Relaxed environment while appearing business casual. No need to do an online application.
Applied online and then got a call to schedule interview. She asked me about what games I like, consoles I have, etc...Then she went over how strict the job is alongside the pay rate and I, for some reason, still said I wanted to work there.
