The interviewer confirmed that I currently hold a license in Property and Casualty insurance which results in a $1500 cash signing bonus. However, when I reported to work on my first day for training and orientation, the company was unaware that I am currently licensed. They told me that I could start in two weeks time without pay, which was not an option because I had obviously quit my prior insurance job to start with the company. GEICO’s solution for me to work for the two week period of time while my class is being licensed is that I am cleaning out the old mail room, lifting emptying, and transporting supplies and equipment. I did not get hired to do physical labor.
