      Entrevista de Customer Service Representative

Envié una solicitud electrónica. El proceso duró 2 días. Acudí a una entrevista en GEICO (Fredericksburg, VA) en sept 2011

      Entrevista

After applying I got an email saying that they wanted to arrange a phone interview, and needed me to click a link where I could set the time. The company called me shortly after the arranged time. The woman verified my resume information, confirmed that I would be willing to work any time needed including night shifts, and answered a few questions I had. I learned from my questions that senior workers tend to earn the same amount of money or less than entry level workers. They lose a night shift bonus when they can change their shift to day. Unless you are extraordinary you will receive very little recognition. When all of the phone interview was completed I was offered an interview and testing. On the testing day I was 30 minutes early. I could not find a visitor parking lot, so I parked at the back of the employee lot. (Make sure to remember where your car is because the lot is huge and pretty packed.) The employment office is the first door on the left coming in through the main doors. When I arrived other people were waiting as well. Almost immediately my group was led into a small room with six computers and a television. We were first given a personality test. Almost if not all of the questions were about your attitude on work and how you react to others. After a short break we started a timed skills test. They were testing on two things, your typing speed and accuracy and your ability to multitask. The typing is pretty straight forward, and the multitasking test lets you examine the entry forms before the task begins. This test is built to be failed. It is stated multiple times that the test has much more work than anyone could ever do. My interview ended shortly after the test. I was brought into another room and told that I passed the multitasking test but I failed the typing. I knew I had done badly so I was not surprise that I didn't get the 1:1 interview. I can reapply after six months and I will not have to take the multitasking test again. The experience left me a little disappointed, but not too much. I had been a little uneasy about working in the environment I learned about in a building that dwarfs any other in a 50 radius.

There are two rounds. The first round is virtual and they ask about your background and if you can handle the process. For the second-round, You will shadow someone for 20 minutes then proceed for a 40 minute interview. There are a lot of situational questions.

It was a weird process, first it was on zoom and my interviewer told me to turn off my camera because of the bandwidth issues. Then she asked three questions and provided me the job description and the hours. She then asked me if I was looking for other work and If I was currently working. I did tell her that I am currently working and she told me that I have enough time to provide my current job a two weeks notice. After the interview she told me that she was going to endorse my application for review. Then she sent me another email saying that “Your recruiter will be in touch with you for next steps”. Then in the middle of night not even 24 hrs, I get a generic email saying that I was passed on. I wanted to find out why did I get an email saying that a recruiter was going to contact me, then I passed on from someone else. This was a customer service position and during the interview she told me that I have a lot of experience. I just didn’t like during that interview I was given false hope. I would not recommend applying to this company.
