      Entrevista

This seemed like a really good opportunity. Everyone I met was super friendly. They were not my first pick nor close to it, but strongly started to consider after talking to the project manager. The first in person interview was going well, met one of the owners and a few others. Easy to talk to, has good questions to ask me, etc. It started going south when I was asked about religion... they asked me if I was ok with religion because they are all people of faith and just kind of mentioned it non challantley. Felt it was odd and definitely an illegal question to ask, but at first felt I was appreciative they were upfront. I have no problem with religion, but told them how I was raised and felt they were not that religion and got turned off. Also made a remark about how I felt working for a women? Like I guess I get it it’s 2019/2020 and I understand our culture, but do you think I’d be sitting here if I was misogynistic? Again just another red flag/off putting/borderline illegal question. Also word for word from one owner was “were big on annuities” I then come back for a second interview. Want to note that they knew were I lived in the valley and had me drive from the south east side of the valley up to peroria during rush hour which is fine, but the interview lasted like 10 mins. I met with the other owner who basically grilled me on religion and how important it is and was just flexing on how important she is in the community. I made a remark about how the other owner mentioned their big on annuities and she got super offended that I guess I called them out? Like I said I wasn’t really seriously considering them. I had a lot of other great companies lined up and took an offer from another company about 45 minutes after my second interview here. I asked how their methedology worked and couldn’t get a clear answer. Based on my experience this company seems like they’re an annuity shop but I can’t really confirm. The saying goes: if it smells like insurance, it’s probably insurance. Again everyone was super nice and friendly and wish this company this best but there were a lot of red flags and borderline discriminating questions.
