      Solicité el puesto en persona. El proceso duró 2 meses. Acudí a una entrevista en Fitzgerald Collaborative Group (Atlanta, GA)

      Entrevista

      I interviewed with this firm. The first interview was with two associate principles. The first round I was treated with respect and was given a positive feedback and was asked to wait for the second round of interview within a week. I got back to them within a weeks time and was told it might take longer. 2 weeks passed by and then was asked to come the next day on a short notice. A time slot had not been allocated. The next day I emailed them asking about the timing. At 12.30 I get an email from them saying that the principle Darell Fitzgerald is not available asked me to wait another week. Another 2 weeks pass by. Finally, after 2 weeks I am asked to come on a Thursday at 2 p.m. when I finally arrive at the firm; Mr Fitzgerald (the interviewer) was in a site meeting and arrives 30 minutes late. The interview was regular chit chat about how I became an architect blah blah. I explain my portfolio for 45 minutes and then he brings up my VISA status. I am on OPT. He directly tells me that if he can get an American citizen with the same qualification as me why should he go through the hassle of hiring an immigrant. He even quoted, 'Trump is changing so much!'. I have interviewed in a number of firms but this was the most unprofessional and mismanaged firm. So all in all the interview candidate is treated as the last priority and their time is procrastinated to almost 2 months! Mental health becomes a real and serious problem amongst interview candidates these days. If you want to reject someone why not just fo it within a weeks time instead of stringing them along for 2 months. Not to mention during these 2 months the firm regularly contacted me via email to just check up on how everything is going. When you are calling a person for an interview at least have to decency to have an interviewer ready at the time slot for them. Don't cancel last minute on the candidate because the candidate has put in a lot of emotional and mental effort in preparing for your interview.
