I had an initial HR screening call where we discussed on site requirements and salary. Those things were not a match for me so I did not proceed with the interview.

Interview was great. Met with recruiter first then with manager I'd be working with. Very nice and professional. Asked the usual questions about industry knowledge and knowledge of tools, why I want to work there.

What interview process? I applied for a position 12 weeks ago. While I am a highly qualified candidate, I realize that my resume may not make it pass the ATS, or if it did, may not catch the eye of a recruiter. So I expect a certain number of auto-generated rejection emails.
What gets me with this company is that it took 12 weeks for this rejection letter to arrive. I already accepted a very good offer and started a new opportunity. And I forgot I even applied to this position 3 months ago.
I seriously doubt that someone waited for the best time to send me a rejection letter months later. My assumption is that this company can't be bothered and probably batched their entire backload of rejection letters to clear out their applicant system.
Remember everyone. How a company treats you before getting hired is a good indication of how they will treat you after you are hired.
