Pretty basic, a series of short phone interviews with five managers in the actuarial department. After the fifth interview, I was surprised to be called and offered the job without having an in-person interview. The salary seemed good and the benefits were decent, I just needed to know if there was any relocation assistance because I would be moving from the East Coast to Southern California. The HR contact said he would ask about a sign-on bonus to help with moving costs, and get back to me. I checked in the following week, and he said he was still trying to get that question answered. A few more weeks went by, and I called and got the same response. Finally, after five weeks of waiting, I was called and told that the position had been offered to someone else. This was an unacceptable way to treat a potential candidate and left a bad impression of Farmers. If you're not going to offer relocation assistance, that's fine, but lying to me while you secretly search for someone else to fill the role is not okay.
