Really poor from initial screening call with recruiter which lasted around 3 mins, basically asked only for salary and availability, couldn’t provide any details around the role, said this would be discussed at interview. Interview arranged with a VP and Senior Director, only the VP turned up. Clearly very inexperienced as an interviewer as the first question after obligatory how are you was have you any questions? I asked if he could walk me through the role and reason for vacancy etc. and stated that the Snr Director would be able to answer that better! Then jumped into 5 pretty generic competency questions but the last one was centred around a particular aspect of the role of CSM which was clear from my CV I’ve never done, so wouldn’t be able to provide an example of that particular framework but used an example from a framework I had worked with. I got the feeling that he had not read my CV, or had it in front on him, even made the comment about needing to jump straight into these questions, which as an experienced interviewer you’d probably tailor the last one, especially if you’d bothered to ask the candidate about their past experiences (which he did not). I asked what sector this role would focus on, and he couldn’t answer, I assumed it was FS since that was the bulk of my background. I asked a few questions after the competency ones and was provided with vague, broad answers. Red flag from the recruiter and 1st interviewer. Didn’t have any feedback for several weeks then the recruiter who initially called me provided feedback that it was a no because I lacked enough experience in banking (honestly I laughed and asked her how much experience do you need?! - I had 8 years in retail banking and 2 years retail banking as a vendor.
