I recently experienced one of the worst interview processes ever. The process involved three rounds, all scheduled for U.S. morning time, which meant they took place late at night in India. Despite the inconvenience, I completed all the rounds.
During the HR round, I was told I would receive an offer within a week. However, after 3-4 days, I was informed that the person responsible for approving the letter was on vacation, and I should expect it by the following week. When the next week arrived, I was told they were waiting for a final list. Two days later, I still had not received any update as they were still waiting for the final list.
As a candidate who invested significant time and effort, I believe I deserved a proper closure, whether I was selected or rejected. These ghosting tactics are highly unprofessional. Initially, I had a very positive impression of the company, but this turned out to be the worst interview process I have ever experienced.
1. Phone call with recruiter
2. Online interview with manager
3. Technical interview with team members
Phone call was absurd. Interviewer was talking like machine - super fast, couldn't interrupt for questions, connection was breaking.
Second interview - interviewer was late for the interview and was not fully aware what the team does and what technologythey use. (For comparison they said one thing, and on the next interview team said completely different thing)
Technical interview was ok - team members were nice, questions were relevant. I got a bit confused with the task they wanted to discuss, it was for concurrency, but something very specific.
What left me with bad impression was that they were interviewing with me through different stages, but keep reposting the job listing for the exact same team like every other day.
