An HR representative reached out to me a few days after I submitted my application, and an initial phone screen was scheduled between me and the HR manager. The conversation was very pleasant and informative, and I was immediately asked to set up an on-site meeting with the hiring manager, which was very exciting, so I provided my availability. This last exchange happened on a Friday.
Come Tuesday next week, I have no confirmation on the status of the interview, so I had to reach out to the HR manager, just to ask for the status. After a few exchanges, a date was formally set, on the following Wednesday, which meant I had to take a scheduled day off.
A few days afterwards, I received an email from the HR manager, saying that they have to reschedule my interview, on account of an unforeseen meeting that the manager already had that day. I understood the aggravation, and so I rescheduled for a different day, which meant I had to adjust my scheduled day off.
The actual interview with the hiring manager was not memorable, to say the least. There were not many technically questions that were asked, and I was not able to get as much information as I can regarding the position, daily responsibilities, etc. I was still hopeful, however, since the company is well-known, and I did have, to my impression, a great rapport with the HR manager, with the adjustments and accommodations that were done in order to get this meet going.
No job offer was extended.
