I was first contacted for an interview with Human Resources. The meeting went well and we went over my resume and past experiences. A week later I was asked to meet with the Director of the Department.The director went into a very long speech about everything the conference coordinator is expected to do. It was also very clear to me that they do not want you to stay in this position for long but want someone to do move into planning or producing.

Entrevista
Was emailed to come in for interview with HR. Average interview, HR does a good job of explaining how this niche industry works. As another has stated, they do push and state that this position would evolve into Conference Planner position (area for growth).
I probably would have gotten the position if I didn't mess up answering one of the questions!
Would have loved to work here (via description).

Entrevista
I submitted an application through LinkedIn and followed up with the owner of the company via email, to which he responded in a timely manner. I set up an interview for the next week. The interview with the owner was more general- I talked about my previously work experiences and resume, he told me more about the company in general and what it does. Then I met the manager for the specific position for which I was applying, she asked me more questions about my experience as it related to the position and explained more in depth the day-to-day of the position.

As this is a niche industry, it definitely helps to do some research about the specific industries to which they provide conferences for. Although my position was more logistics, I would imagine the other positions require you to prove your knowledge of this subject as well as any business contacts you can bring to the position.
