The interview process was long. I had a two phone interviews and a competency test for their chat engine. Both went okay. The next interview was with the whole team. It was 6 hours long and I had 5 rounds of interviews with 2 people per round. They flew me out to California for it. The last interview with the CEO was very racist and prejudice. He kept asking me questions about me being black and how that would fit in their current company culture. He also asked me if I happened to meet an their only African employee in the office. CEO constantly cursed in the interview. It was wild! The 3rd interview round was suppose to be "relaxing" with lunch, but they were still asking me questions but were saying I did have to answer in that moment. I was confused. I have no idea why they flew me all the way to California to me subjected to a lengthy, racist interview. It was not a good experience for me, and it was clear to me that they do not spend much time around Black people or even educating themselves on other cultures besides their. It was uncomfortable for me. The CEO was very unprofessional, hauling curse in the interview room. He assumed that I came from a struggling background because I am black. He asked me questions about being successful as a Black person, and I told him that I've always been around successful Black people. I wasn't sure what he was trying to allude to. After the interview, they emailed me saying I was not a good fit for the culture of the company. Fast forward 3 days later when I am back in North Carolina, another recruiter contacts me from the same company asking me to interview again. I told him No and I would never put myself through such a lengthy process again. The whole process was about 3 and half weeks, with 2 interviews and test back at home, plus flying out for a 5 round interview in California, to be subjected to racism!
