The interview process was initially straightforward, involving three online interviews focused on behavioral and technical questions. After receiving a verbal offer, an unexpected additional step was introduced: a CEO interview. This took a week to schedule and deviated significantly from what you’d expect from a high-level discussion. Instead of focusing on career aspirations or strategic alignment, the CEO asked granular and intrusive questions, such as my high school GPA, how many hours I work daily (emphasizing long hours), and detailed day-to-day responsibilities. He even included a consulting-style technical question about estimating flights in the sky. Despite receiving top scores in the earlier interviews and meeting the 5-7 years of experience requirement with 6 years of experience, the CEO ultimately decided to rescind the offer, claiming they wanted someone more senior. This experience was frustrating and a waste of time, especially since I turned down two other offers while waiting for their decision. For those considering this company, be aware that the CEO interview is exceptionally challenging, with a heavy focus on working long hours and a lack of friendliness. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this position or company to my colleagues.
