Invasive in one word. Phone interview just like any other, but the tech screening had scary similarities to screenshare scams. access to audio? ok. Video? if you want to stare at me for 3 hours, ok. screenshare? ok you must be paranoid about cheating. access to keyboard and mouse for stranger in India to download new applications and change system settings? Not ok. Government issued photo ID? Can't get out of there fast enough. interviews, let alone technical screenings do not necessitate an invasion of privacy. No reputable companies needs a photo ID at this stage. in fact, per eeoc law "employers should not ask for a photograph of an applicant. If needed for identification purposes, a photograph may be obtained after an offer of employment is made and accepted."
