Entrevista
I was greeted by the recruiter I met and led to a room to meet with the interviewer. The interviewer basically spoke about himself for the whole hour, but I did learn a lot about the company and the position in the process. However, very early on he stated that the company works a lot with East Asians, "and sometimes you just want to strangle those people." That's an exact quote. Iwanted to tell him my husband is Korean and leave at the point, but sat through the rest of the interview, where he also mentioned he thought the job would "chew me up and spit me out" and that some other higher-up employee usually looks for "a neck to choke" when someone messes up (ie, punishing the one person who messed up instead of a whole department). This all seemed very violent for a job interview? He also talked about stereotypes regarding my college degree and complained about millennials (I'm a millennial). Additionally, he mentioned a few reasons he was "willing" to interview me, despite not having practical experience, even though I was recruited and didn't apply directly. Overall, it was a very confusing, uncomfortable interview.
