I recently went through the hiring process at Ent Credit Union and was initially very excited to join the team. The interview process went smoothly, and I was even offered the position. Everything seemed positive until they ran a credit check — and immediately after, my offer was withdrawn.
It was disappointing because I had already gone through multiple interviews and was fully transparent throughout the process. I understand financial institutions have certain standards, but it felt discouraging that a single factor like credit history outweighed my qualifications and experience.
Overall, the people I interacted with were professional and courteous, but the experience left me feeling frustrated and let down. I would recommend that Ent be more upfront early in the process about how heavily credit reports impact hiring decisions so applicants don’t waste time or get their hopes up unnecessarily.
