Exchanged emails for a couple days, and then decided to meet directly with the Ops Manager for lunch on short notice, since we worked less than a mile away from each other. I thought that was a great idea, and found Matthew to be a very nice guy. He even offered to buy my lunch. I thought he was very professional and found he would probably be a good person to work for.
