Friend told me about job. I sent CV to hr and got interview within 2 weeks. Basic competency based interview, no real surprises and an aptitude test, English, maths & observation. Salary and time off discussed was higher than reality once work started. Told you worked 14 days out of 28 with one 7 day break, with plenty of overtime opportunities. True about the overtime but during the 7 day off period you HAVE to do 2 overtime shifts, often straight after the 4 shift rotation. You get told the starting salary, and that you get e tea for nights and weekends but not that these extra rates are included in the basic salary. I.e. " you start on £19,000 and get extra for nights and weekends" but really you start on £19k including nights and weekends. Pay is often incorrect and you can only contact payroll & HR via your manager not directly. Where else is that the case.
