Entrevista
Had initial phone call with recruiter. Basic phone screen. Background and experiences. Why good fit for this role. Didn't make it to next round with hiring manager, which would have been a mock simulation.
1. A call with a recruiter.
Super scripted, she just skimmed through her list of questions. I felt like speaking to their AI would actually feel more like talking to a real person. She couldn't answer any of my questions regarding the role, team structure, or compensation.
2. A call with the CRO.
All the standard stuff around working with a team/quota/outreach volume, what you like/don't like, etc. He seemed overworked or low energy in general.
There is no clear plan for the role yet - the main thing for them is to fill it and offset some workload from the current manager. Didn't answer how the team will be structured because he haven't thought about it.
I tried clarifying the compensation structure but got some vague answers. You get paid for SQLs + % from deals closed. I didn't get the actual breakdown, just "more emphasis goes towards SQLs."
What is SQL? It depends - they have a points system that AE assigns, not like BANT but something they came up with.
How much influence do SDRs have on deals being closed? The answer is "somewhat, it's about bringing quality leads."
Avg. deal cycle is about 90 days (if true).
So, there is a lot of ambiguity in the areas that affect your pay.
