      Entrevista

I went through a lengthy two-month interview process with this organization for Director of Human Resources role. During that time, I completed multiple interviews, prepared and delivered a presentation, and complied with every requirement they requested. After receiving a formal offer, I completed the medical screening, vaccinations, and all onboarding steps, including submitting my passport. My official start date was scheduled for Monday, November 17, 2025. On Friday, November 14, 2025 at 2:00 PM—one business day before my start date—I was informed that my start date needed to be delayed because the background check was “not completed yet.” I followed up on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 for an update. Then, on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, the offer was withdrawn without any clear or legally adequate explanation. After the withdrawal, I requested a copy of my background check, which candidates are legally entitled to receive. I was then told that no background check was ever run. This was also consistent with the fact that none of my references were ever contacted. Separately, when I later checked LinkedIn, I noticed that the CEO’s profile was no longer accessible to me, indicating that I had been blocked—despite never reaching out on LinkedIn. This added to the overall lack of transparency I experienced. Investing two months of time, effort, travel, and preparation only to have the offer pulled at the last minute—with contradictory explanations—was extremely disappointing and felt unprofessional. I hope the organization reevaluates its hiring process to ensure transparency and respect for candidates’ time in the future. I couldn’t shake the feeling that external influence or prior employer bias may have impacted their final decision. The situation raised concerns about fairness and transparency in the process.
