I applied through the website with a referral from a Financial Advisor I met will in college working at a coffee house. I think I did a phone screen and then had an interview with a FA who went to the same High School as me, that went a long way. I think he wanted to make sure I wasn't socially incompetent though, we didn't really go through the questions they had prepared for him to ask me. More of a formality. I then had to go door to door and do a survey. They don't make interviewees do this anymore, but it better prepares you to do the real thing when you get the job. I then had to do a simulated "day in the life of a financial advisor" where I had to field calls, make calls, make decisions etc. Apparently "noone had done as well as I had" when I got my review from the hiring coordinator. I then got the offer to join the Financial Advisor Career Development program (FACD). If you get this offer and can live in St. Louis for almost a year TAKE IT!!! It was the best experience in my life.

Interview process first consists of numerous dinner events, all very laid back where you get to learn more about the company and the advisors in the region, and they get to learn more about you. If you keep getting invited back to dinners, consider it progress in the interview process. Honestly, the best, most effective interview process.

it's a series of interviews with people in the office then a full-day of simulating the role of the advisor where you're receiving calls from clients and team mates as well as receiving emails. As a career-changer, this was the part of the interview phase where I realized Edward Jones wasn't the right start to my career as a financial advisor and ended up going somewhere that invested in my growth rather than a "sink or swim" type of place.

Interview process is very lengthy. 6 steps, very in depth. HR screening, in person interview, 1 year plan, day in the life role play (3 hours long) where you had to call actors who were playing clients and prospects
