      Entrevista de Insurance Business

      Solicitud

Envié una solicitud electrónica. Acudí a una entrevista en Ecclesiastical Insurance Canada (Toronto, ON) en abr 2019

      Entrevista

I was contacted first for a screening interview by phone, then conducted a written assessment that was timed and done by email. After that I was invited for an in-person interview done by 3 people, and finally was scheduled for a final interview with 2 senior people within the organisation. This happened over the course of about 2 months.

      Preguntas de entrevista [3]

      Pregunta 1

The screening interview included questions about why I wanted to enter the insurance industry, and what made me want this job in particular (referring to the internship program). The phone interview had a much more serious tone than similar interviews I have had for similar positions, with the interviewer telling me a few times I hadn't answered the question they asked specifically enough.

      Pregunta 2

The written assessment asked me how I would approach being assigned to approach a prospective client with the purpose of determining what sort of products and services would be suitable for them. It was emailed to me, with instructions to complete it within 30 minutes and email it back, with 5 minutes grace. I took 36 minutes total, but it wasn't held against me as I progressed to the interview stage anyways.

      Pregunta 3

In the interview I actually did, I was interviewed by 3 people-one graduate of the internship, one senior rep, whose psoition I forget, and one HR person. The HR person was the one who had given me the writing assignment and screening phone interview, and immediately made me feel uncomfortable, as she had a distinctly unpleasant demeanour. At similar interviews with other insurance companies, the people who greeted me to bring me in to the interview were at least pretending to be friendly when they saw me. I don't think Milan does friendly. The atmosphere in the office as well as the interview room was deathly quiet, like a morgue. They asked me a lot of questions about what was on my resume, with specifications about how I had improved and performed at my previous positions. When I gave answers about how I had treated employees at my pervious positions (as I have management experience) they focused on how I had respected their desires and what liability issues I faced at my previous jobs. The only specific question I remember was when they asked me about what type of role I would like to fill in the insurance industry, which I had a good answer for.
