Group interview, with information about what you need to be a Substitute Teacher and the pay rate. Basically it wasn't even an interview, more like an information session, even people who don't speak English properly qualify, which I find to be unprofessional because the substitute is going to be working with English speaking student, how do you teach and communicate? Impossible. They also give information on how to get finger prints, get certification as a substitute in NJ
The interview process is done online. All paperwork needs to be uploaded. Once your references are complete and background check you have to wait for an acceptance email. Then you’re good to go.

Uploading resume, filling out questionnaire, and Zoom interview. The process was smooth, and ESS was responsive and timely. I was hired quickly. Everyone I spoke with during the hiring process was kind and communicated well.
