Interviewed with two people. Very nice. Seemed to be looking for someone with less experience or someone younger. Got an email about a week later stating that I did not get the position but thanked me for the interview. Thought it was a good fit for me but apparently not.

The actual interviews with EDSI aren’t bad – questions were as expected, and the staff is friendly. It’s the lack of communication between the different stakeholders that creates confusion for the applicant. The first round was a phone interview with a recruiter, within 24 hours of submitting my resume. The questions were very straightforward. I was asked to come to their office for a face-to-face interview. When I got there, I was told by the receptionist that I was doing a phone interview in their conference room, and that I wouldn’t be meeting anyone face-to-face. This was irritating – why do I need to be at their office, requiring me to take time off of work, to talk on the phone with someone? The phone interview was pleasant. At the end of the call, the woman told me I wouldn’t be meeting with anyone that day, but to stay in the room until someone came to walk me out. I sat for about ten minutes, then ended up interviewing face-to-face with local employees after all. Again, expected questions, but why didn’t anyone seem to know what was going on? At the end of the face-to-face, I was told that the next step would be a presentation of my 45-day plan. I received a call later asking me to submit a background check, and was told that if I passed the background check the job was mine, no presentation necessary. A few hours later, someone else called to schedule me for the presentation, even though the previous person said there wasn’t one. I made my presentation, which went well. It’s done via web cam to stakeholders in various offices. When it was completed, the woman at the local office told me the job was mine, and she’d push them to make a quick offer. Three weeks later, when I reached out for an updated hiring timeline, I got a poorly-worded form email stating that they hadn’t reached a decision yet, but also telling me good luck with my future endeavors, which I took to mean that I didn’t get the position. A week after that, I got a personal email from someone at the local level saying that no decisions had been made yet and that they planned to finish interviewing soon, so I decided I must still be in the running after all. The job posting is down now, so I assume someone was hired, though I was never notified.
