I was contacted directly by a DTEX recruiter who was responsive and very eager to move quickly. After a very brief recruiter screen, I was scheduled for a first round interview with the hiring manager, which was actually a genuinely good conversation, detailed, and ended with clear next steps and a specific timeline for hearing back.
That timeline came and went. I followed up twice over the following two weeks before finally receiving a rejection email about two and a half weeks after my interview.
The frustrating part is the gap between how the process started and how it ended. The recruiter was very pushy about moving quickly, the hiring manager was warm and communicative, and then the whole thing went dark. A timely rejection is a small thing that makes a big difference.
Worth noting: the hiring manager was upfront that DTEX operates in "controlled chaos" and that the company is scaling fast. That transparency was appreciated, and based on my experience, that energy does extend to the hiring process. The role itself sounded interesting and the team seemed passionate. Just manage your expectations on communication after the interview.
