The interview process for the role consisted of three structured rounds:
Senior Analyst Round
This initial round was primarily focused on evaluating technical proficiency. The interviewer assessed the candidate’s skills in SQL and data visualization tools (such as Power BI or Tableau), along with general analytics capabilities. Expect questions on problem-solving using data, logical thinking, and familiarity with analytics workflows or frameworks.
Managerial Round
Conducted by the hiring manager, this round focused on both technical and behavioral competencies. It included:
Guestimates: Candidates were tested on their ability to logically estimate figures with limited data—for example, estimating the market size for a product or the number of transactions a platform might process in a day.
Case-based questions: These assessed structured thinking, business acumen, and how well the candidate could approach real-world problems analytically.
Team fitment: The interviewer evaluated whether the candidate would integrate well with the current team in terms of working style, communication, and ownership.
HR Round
The final round focused on cultural alignment and overall suitability for the organization. The HR representative looked for any red flags in the candidate’s attitude, career history, or interpersonal conduct. This round also included a detailed discussion on compensation, benefits, notice period, and expectations from both ends.
