First I was asked to provide my resume, cover letter and transcripts (which is the norm), but also for some reason my SAT scores from high school, which I wouldn't know in the least why it was relevant. I was then tasked with preparing a presentation of my projects and work and present it come interview day. A little redundant but not difficult. Come interview day, I got a tour of the facility, met with all of the employees, and presented the presentation which was awkward as I was asked to talk louder as they are older and couldn't hear as well. Then I was taken to dinner, I have never heard of this before, but it was nice, although the choice of place was a clear , and failed, attempt to cater to my ethnicity. Afterwards we went back to the facility where I was given a TEST to do, with no material, charts or equations to reference. The questions ranged from trivial to specifics and were from different engineering disciplines (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Chemical, etc.). This was far too much, I didn't think that this was serious and I handed in my test after a short while of debating if jumping through these hoops was worth it. I got my test reviewed and was told it was less than satisfactory. I really don't get the advertising of an entry level role, while wanting someone who is not, probably to pay as such. It all left me extremely tired and if I got an offer or not, I was not going to accept. I was told some time later that another candidate was offered the position and "he" has accepted. Overall this was a very unpleasant experience, far out from any interview I have done so far, maybe unprofessional.
