I applied for a Sr. Associate role at DoorDash and had a highly disappointing experience. After submitting my resume, I was promptly contacted for a take-home test, followed by two interviews. Unfortunately, both interviewers seemed disengaged and uninterested, barely offering any meaningful insight into the role or the team.
The most frustrating part was the lack of transparency. I was never informed who the hiring manager was, and communication was vague throughout. After completing all steps, I received an automated rejection email stating it was against company policy to provide feedback—an impersonal response after significant time invested.
Further research revealed that this role had been open for over six months. This suggests a company either confused about its own hiring criteria or using candidates to build a talent pool without clear intent to hire.
Serious candidates should consider whether it’s worth their time engaging in a process that lacks transparency, clear expectations, and basic respect for candidate effort.
